The Oklahoma City community is mourning the passing of Brenda Brent, longtime Director of Academic Student Services at ACM, whose dedication to students and colleagues left a lasting impression. Brenda began working at ACM in 2013 after spending many years at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). Throughout her years at ACM, she devoted herself to helping students navigate their academic journeys, working tirelessly to enroll them in the classes they needed to pursue their goals and achieve their dreams. Her commitment to students was matched by the kindness and patience she showed to those around her. Colleagues remember Brenda as someone who consistently went beyond her responsibilities to make a difference in the lives of students and members of the ACM community. Her presence was also reflected in the small gestures that became part of everyday campus life. One of the memories colleagues are holding onto is Brenda’s habit of leaving candy outside her office door, a simple act that brought moments of warmth and happiness to those who passed by. Brenda’s passing has left ACM colleagues and students grieving the loss of a dedicated professional and caring member of their community. Her years of service, compassion and commitment to helping students will remain part of the legacy she leaves behind. Those who worked alongside Brenda are now remembering the many ways she supported students and contributed to the academic community. Her patience, kindness and generosity made her a valued presence at ACM, and her absence will be deeply felt. The ACM community extends its condolences to Brenda Brent’s loved ones, friends, colleagues and all those whose lives she touched throughout her years of service. Her dedication to students and the small acts of kindness that defined her daily interactions will be remembered with gratitude.
