Victoria Burkett Obituary, Friendswood, TX Death – Family Mourns Beloved Texas A&M Leader

FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS — Victoria Claire Burkett, lovingly known as Tori, died peacefully on September 6, 2026, at the age of 23. She leaves behind a grieving family, fiancé, friends and a wide community of people whose lives were shaped by her kindness, leadership, faith and friendship.

Born October 9, 2002, Tori grew up in Friendswood surrounded by a family who adored her. She was the beloved daughter of Rusty and Melissa Burkett and the cherished younger sister of Zachary and Samantha.

Remembering Victoria “Tori” Burkett

Tori lived a Christ-filled life marked by love, laughter, service and an extraordinary ability to make others feel valued.

She graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management from the Mays Business School. She remained at Texas A&M while pursuing a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and was working in the Human Resources Department at EOG Resources.

Her passion for people and leadership was evident throughout her college years. Tori served as president of the Zeta Tau Alpha Theta Gamma Chapter, leading more than 300 women. She was also a four-year member of Texas A&M Diamond Darlings and participated in Mays Business Fellows, Fish Camp, 1879 Society Ambassadors, Texas A&M’s Society for Human Resource Management and other organizations.

In 2025, she received the Buck Weirus Spirit Award, recognizing her leadership, involvement and commitment to the Aggie community.

A Life Built Around People

Despite her many accomplishments, those closest to Tori say her greatest gift was the way she loved people.

She was fiercely loyal, generous and always willing to show up for those she cared about. Her family was at the center of her world, while her friendships became treasured lifelong relationships.

Tori was also engaged to Jake Kieffer, whom she described as the love of her life. Their relationship and the future they were building together were deeply meaningful to her and her family.

Her Christian faith remained an important part of her life. Her favorite verse, Isaiah 41:10, offered a message of strength and comfort that continues to resonate with those mourning her.

Family and Friends Remember Tori

Tori is survived by her parents, Rusty and Melissa; brother Zachary; sister Samantha Burkett Roa and their spouses, Madeleine Burkett and Christian Roa; grandparents, extended family, fiancé Jake Kieffer, best friends Gayle Henderson and Kendal Girouard, and countless other friends and loved ones.

Her beloved dogs Cooper, Charly and Penny, along with canine nephew Olsen, were also an important part of her life.

For those who knew Tori, her accomplishments tell only part of her story. She was a daughter, sister, fiancé, friend, leader, colleague and woman of faith who made people feel special simply by being present.

Visitation and Funeral Service

A visitation will be held Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Friendswood Friends Church, 502 S Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546.

The funeral service will take place Monday, September 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Friendswood Friends Church. A private burial will follow.
