Amanda was traveling as a passenger on a 2000 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide when the devastating collision occurred in Westfield Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was traveling southwest on U.S. Route 42 at approximately 8:02 p.m. when it was involved in a crash at the intersection with County Road 25.

The motorcycle was being operated by 30-year-old Tyler Weaver of Cardington. At the same time, a 47-year-old driver from Wheelersburg was traveling eastbound on County Road 25 in a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu.

Investigators said the Chevrolet Malibu failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection. The vehicle entered the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles. The impact left both people on the motorcycle facing serious consequences.
