The Tauranga community is mourning the sudden passing of Anna Devoy, a much-loved member of the Devoy Squash & Fitness Centre whose presence was deeply valued by family, friends and fellow club members. The club shared the heartbreaking news of Anna’s passing, describing her as a familiar and much-loved face within the Devoy community. Her sudden death has left members grieving and offering their support to her family during an incredibly difficult time. Remembering Anna Devoy Anna was particularly known at the club as Abby’s biggest supporter and a dedicated squash mum. She regularly attended club events and was remembered for her willingness to help, her warmth and the kindness she showed to people around her. For those who encountered Anna at Devoy, her presence became part of the fabric of the club. Her friendly smile and readiness to lend a hand made her someone who was familiar to many members. Her passing has brought considerable sadness to the Devoy Squash & Fitness community, with members extending their aroha and condolences to Abby and Anna’s whānau. The club expressed its sympathy to the family and shared the Māori farewell, “Moe mai rā e Anna,” as members gathered in grief. Anna Devoy Funeral Service Anna’s service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Pyes Pā in Tauranga. The service will provide family, friends and members of the wider community with an opportunity to come together, honour Anna’s life and support her loved ones. No cause of death has been publicly stated in the club’s announcement, and no further circumstances surrounding her sudden passing have been confirmed.
