Ashley Intihar Obituary, Manassas, VA Death – Community Mourns 16-Year-Old Shooting Victim

Ashley Intihar, 16, was fatally shot during the First Friday celebration in Old Town Manassas, Virginia, on September 4, 2026. Her death has left her family, friends and the wider Manassas community mourning the loss of a young life taken in an act of violence.

According to police, Ashley was an innocent bystander who became caught in an exchange of gunfire between two shooters near the Manassas Train Station at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Shooting During First Friday

Thousands of people had gathered in Old Town Manassas for the monthly First Friday celebration when gunfire broke out near the railroad tracks. Police said two individuals were firing at one another before leaving the area.

Ashley was not involved in the confrontation, authorities said. A 21-year-old man was also wounded and taken to a Fairfax County hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting quickly turned a community celebration into a scene of fear and confusion as people fled the area and emergency crews responded.

Suspect Arrested

Police arrested 21-year-old Tasheem Rashad Douglas on September 5. He faces charges including second-degree murder, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Investigators believe Douglas fired the shot that killed Ashley. Authorities continue to search for a second shooter and are asking witnesses to provide photographs, videos or other information that could assist the investigation.
