Kevin McNaughton Obituary, Perth, ON Death – RMC Hockey Community Mourns Sudden Loss

The RMC Hockey Alumni community is mourning the sudden passing of Kevin “Mac” McNaughton, a beloved former player, captain, father, husband, and longtime supporter of the Royal Military College hockey program.

McNaughton, an RMC graduate of 1995, wore the Red and White of the Redmen, as the team was known at the time, for four seasons from 1991-92 through 1994-95. During his playing career, he recorded nine points and nine assists while accumulating 66 penalty minutes. Despite spending significant time dealing with injuries and in the trainer’s room, McNaughton remained an inspirational leader and was selected as team captain during his fourth year.

His connection to RMC hockey continued long after his playing days ended. McNaughton was an avid supporter of the RMC Hockey Alumni Association and the RMC Hockey Program, regularly participating in and supporting alumni activities.

His connection to the program became even more personal when his son, Brock, followed in his footsteps and played hockey at RMC. Brock matched his father’s career points total and also went on to serve as team captain, creating a remarkable connection between father and son.

Those who knew McNaughton are remembering him not only for his contributions to hockey but also for the warmth, humor and friendship he brought to those around him. Family members described him as a wonderful husband, father, cousin and friend whose infectious smile and unmistakable belly laugh could brighten the lives of people around him.

His family and friends are now being encouraged to hold onto the good memories, including the laughter, funny moments and unforgettable experiences they shared with him.

The RMC Hockey Alumni community extended condolences to McNaughton’s family and friends, particularly Jess, Brock, Brynn and Brooklyn. His sudden passing has left a profound void among those who knew and loved him.
