Nick Lavoie Obituary, Grande Prairie, AB Death – Community Comes Together for Final Ride

Grande Prairie, Alberta, is preparing to come together to honour Nicholas “Nick” Lavoie as family, friends and members of the motorcycle and car communities gather for a final procession in his memory.

On Monday, September 14, Nick’s family, together with One Last Ride Ltd. and Bear Creek Funeral Home, will welcome community members who wish to accompany him on his final journey. Organizers are inviting people to participate whether they arrive by motorcycle or vehicle, with the gathering intended to show support for Nick’s family and provide him with a meaningful farewell.

The gathering will take place at Bear Creek Funeral Home, located at 11820 99 Avenue in Grande Prairie. Participants are asked to arrive at 2:15 p.m., with the procession scheduled to depart at 3 p.m.

The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 10404 102 Street in Grande Prairie.

The planned procession will depart Bear Creek Funeral Home and travel along Highway 43 West before continuing onto the Highway 43X Bypass. The procession will continue east on Highway 43X, merge onto 100 Street South, turn west onto 116 Avenue and then south onto 102 Street before arriving at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Organizers are asking everyone taking part to ride and drive safely throughout the procession. Participants are reminded to maintain respectful following distances, obey traffic laws and follow directions provided by procession organizers.

The event is being organized as an opportunity for Grande Prairie’s motorcycle and automotive communities to stand alongside Nick’s family during a difficult time. Those unable to attend are encouraged to share information about the gathering with others who may wish to participate.

One Last Ride Ltd. and Bear Creek Funeral Home expressed their honour in standing alongside Nicholas’ family and accompanying him on his final journey.

The community will gather Monday to remember Nick, support those closest to him and say a final farewell as he is accompanied to his funeral service.
